Running Fedora and upgrading KDE to 3.2.1 users no longer have any menus. kcontrol also comes up completely blank.
Now menus and kcontrol all work for "root". I've checked obvious permissions of qt-3.3.1-0.2 but nothing jumped out at me.
Has anyone seen this before? Any hints on what to change?
Thanks in advance,
If this works for root, it must be a permission problem.
Check these directories:
/etc/xdg/menus /usr/share/applnk /usr/share /usr/share/applications /usr/share/desktop-directories
and their contents for proper permissions. They should be owned by root:root. The directories and subdirectories should be: 755 and the contents should be 644.
