Any help on this? I also get a core file in my root directory when KDE
starts.

Hello list.

I am running a fully updated RedHat 7.3 with a 2.4.25 kernel with KDE
3.0.5a updated from RedHat. Also, installed are:

arts-1.0.5a-0.73.0
arts-devel-1.0.5a-0.73.0, and
kdemultimedia-arts-3.0.5a-0.73.0

When I login and KDE comes up I get greeted by a window that says:

Informational - artsmessage
Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
can't set requested samplingrate (requested rate 44100, got rate 5736)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

I do have sound with xmms for CDs (and local MP3s I think) so I really
just want to know that everything is o.k. and make the warning go away.

My /etc/modules.conf file looks like the following:

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias eth0 3c59x
alias sound-slot-0 i810_audio
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null
2>&1 || :
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -S >/dev/null
2>&1 || :
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
alias char-major-5 serial
alias block-major-8 sd_mod
alias block-major-22 ide-probe
alias block-major-33 ide-probe
alias block-major-34 ide-probe
alias block-major-57 ide-probe
alias block-major-90 ide-probe
alias block-major-91 ide-probe
alias char-major-195 nvidia

lsmod shows:

Module Size Used by Tainted: P

sr_mod     16216  2 (autoclean)
i810_audio 25488  1 (autoclean)
