AFAIK mtrr is to do with graphics card memory addressing. No idea why that would have anything to do with XDMCP. Kind of suggests that KDM is trying to interact with its local X server rather than your cygwin X server.

Unfortunately, I still have the 'kernel: mtrr: 0xd0000000,0x2000000 overlaps existing 0xd0000000,0x1000000' error, and I get no KDE.
This looks like a protected memory violation?
