Subject: KDE 3.2 Beta 2 From: David Collyer <David.Collyer@xxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 26 Dec 2003 12:16:50 -0600 To: kde@xxxxxxxxxxxx
I am having difficulty installing the rpms for kdelibs. I have attached my output. Not sure where to get the file "libvcard.so.0". I do find the file in /usr/lib, but for some reason it's giving me these dependency errors. Any ideas?
First, you need to upgrade Qt to 3.2.2 or greater.
Then you need to Upgrade aRts to 1.1.94
If you currently have 'devel' packages for these, you need to upgrade them as well.
Then you need to simultaneously upgrade all of the KDE packages. You will need a new package for each old package currently installed. To see what you currently have installed, run:
rpm -qa |grep kde
If you have stuff that doesn't contain "kde" in the package name (i.e. quanta) you will need to check that separately. E.G.:
rpm -qa |grep quanta
If you have packages which you aren't going to upgrade, you will need to uninstall them.
Then after you have everything in place:
rpm -Uvh kde*3.1.94*.rpm quanta*3.1.94*.rpm
-- JRT
