Is this more like a kernel oops?

actually, the machine is eating slightly more battery then it should be
(the "quirks" are piling up) that i can confirm.

it *might* be getting hotter than usual (i had it on another os in the
past, under which it was behaving cooler).

thank you for the tip with the freedesktop drm/intel "community?" i
filed a bug report as you said there...
