Loop over both lists at the end checking that the dirty list is indeed all dirty pages and vice versa. Sure, if that works for your usecase. But maybe just check that mm.clear_avail is non-zero somewhere? Triggering force_merge won't help on i915 or xe (for now at least) or if everything is already dirty, so would be good to skip that if possible. Or at least for the __alloc_range_bias() case.
