could the commit messages of these two patches be extended? Like I think
to remember that interlaced mode not allowed some time. So what commit
was that and (if it does not contain the reasons) why is it allowed
again.

Additionally Thomas Hilber once did some work on FRC (frame rate
correction) [1]. These patches are quite old and Thomas does not work an
that anymore. The repository I tried to get these patches upstreamed is
also not working anymore, so one would need to get the archives from
Thomas? site [2].

Is there a chance to pick up Thomas? work again? I think the main
problem was that Thomas? work was more or less a hack to get it working.
To do it properly some interfaces have to be defined or so so that other
drivers like radeon or nouveau can do that too.
