Hi there!

With the Linux 4.9 series (upto 4.9.50), the GPU hangs upon resume from
disk (hibernation) on a laptop with Intel Broadwell graphics.

I filed a bug [1] and got to know that it has been already fixed [2].

Would it be possible to have this patch included in the Linux 4.9 LTS
series?

Thanks,
Aaditya

I looked through the bug report which contains the fix [1], and it seems that the patch was applied to the Linux 4.9 series and then reverted due to regression with Skylake [2][3].

Since it works on my Broadwell based system, I'll keep on using it; the expert opinion is that it cannot be easily backported without more changes [4].

Thanks,
Aaditya
