Hello, I don't know if this is a known bug, but it affects all kernels from 4.9 upwards (tested also with 4.11-rc1) and probably also 4.8 (there was one report of someone using a 4.8 kernel). The bug does not occur on 4.4. It has been observed to affect Intel Core i5-5257U, i5-5200U and i5-5300U CPUs, mainly on Dell Latitude E5450 Laptops. Since it leads to a complete system freeze, I have not been able to get any debug information out. If anyone has any advice how to get dmesg / kernel panic information out, I'd be very happy to try. I have tried setting i915.enable_psr=0 on the kernel bootline. That did not help.
