But it seems impossible to sample the ports without taking locks. And we don't want to go there. One option would be to store only the req->seqno of each port away during elsp write. Perhaps with the reset count number. That would allow us to see what was the last hw kick and it's timeline wrt to reset and the request list. That would have a small perf impact tho.
