In order to try and narrow down when the issue appeared, I'd like to run master from version 3.6 (apparently the issue is very likely to be in master) with the other components (imapd, pop3d, httpd, idled) from version 3.8 (to avoid messing with my mailboxes and databases).
Is this a safe configuration? That is, am I unlikely to trash an existing live 3.8.4 setup by doing this?
