Missing shared mailbox? How to recover/restore/reconstruct?

Hi, I'm a newbie and I've inherited a pretty old cyrus system, and either I or a user has deleted a shared mailbox and I need to try to recover without, ideally, involving our clunky tape backup system.

our version:
name       : Cyrus IMAPD
version    : 2.5.13-37-ga30c191aa-Kolab-2.5.17.34-2.2.el7.kolab_16 3e2a85d6 2021-07-28
vendor     : Project Cyrus
support-url: http://www.cyrusimap.org
os         : Linux
os-version : 3.10.0-1062.4.1.el7.x86_64
environment: Built w/Cyrus SASL 2.1.26
             Running w/Cyrus SASL 2.1.26
             Built w/OpenSSL 1.0.2k-fips  26 Jan 2017
             Running w/OpenSSL 1.0.2k-fips  26 Jan 2017
             CMU Sieve 2.4
             mmap = shared
             lock = fcntl
             nonblock = fcntl
             idle = idled

I was trying to make the folders visible to a new member of staff so I gave them the same ACL as the previous person they replaced.  The root of the shared mailbox was visible but not the subfolders.  I mucked about for a while in the past week, trying to make it work but I'm told today that no mail has come through since

Anyway, now when I look at the list of mailboxes or try to do anything with this mailbox, cyrus says "Mailbox does not exist"

What steps should I be taking now? (besides updating my CV...)

Thanks
