My rpms do this on upgrade:
if grep -q "ctl_deliver *-E" /etc/cyrus.conf ; then
  /usr/bin/perl -pi -e "s/ctl_deliver *-E/cyr_expire -E/" /etc/cyrus.conf
fi

How did you upgrade?
