Off-list I'm told that there is at least one online, collaborative, BUI
LaTeX editors, and asked what it might take to use one.

My response: to use an online LaTeX editor we'd have to write LaTeX
templates for I-Ds and RFCs.

That would be *very* nice, actually, especially if there are good tools
for converting to XML even if we then no longer need xml2rfc.

Now, XML is super convenient because of XSLT, so all in all I'd rather
not abandon XML altogether.  I can see that there are TeX->XML tools,
but I don't know how good they might be -- if they're good enough,
switching to LaTeX might actually be a very good idea.
