This is perfectly fine.   If they aren’t maintaining their code, it’s better for it not to work.   Year-long bug fix cycles are a security vulnerability: the more pain that they cause before something gets hacked into, the better.



This is a matter of market power and who really sets the standard.  If the choice is between not accepting a buggy implementation and selling product, guess which wins.
