Same as what the Physicists were left with after they moved from Newtonian physics to Einstein.

Only Einstein does not actually rewrite Newton. 99% of the time it is Newton's physics that are important and quantum mechanics and relativity are irrelevant.

The cutting edge of a field MUST always focus on the parts that the founders didn't get right or didn't get entirely right. Relativity is actually a Newtonian concept it is at the heart of Newtonian gravity as well. He just failed to determine that the speed of light was less than infinite.
