I *have* evaluated it, and it lacks the functionality, privacy, security,
stability, scalability, and usability features that mailing lists have.
(See partial enumeration in previous message.)  It's just another
attempt to convince Internet users to surrender their privacy/security
to a third party so that data can be collected on them and subsequently
monetized.  It will probably be successful, since no doubt its operators
have observed other such data collection operations (e.g., Twitter,
Meetup, Facebook, LinkedIn) and learned from them.  But it's not suitable
for the IETF or for any other entity that actually cares about its users
and participants.
