Because in some cases of extreme hurry the form-filling part of registration can be long.

The form requires six fields to be filled in to register as a remote participant. A remote person who is interested in listening to a working group session would either not bother signing up or put in "privacy-friendly" data. I'll use the usual way to "tune in".
