This thread is getting fantastically surreal, (normally, I'd
quite like that but:-) in this case, I'd say it'd be better
dropped and then re-started more calmly in a while. But since
I (think I) was mentioned...

I sent Phill an offlist mail wondering if he knew that Mark
and not Roy was the relevant DE. Phill said he did, and that I'd
misinterpreted his earlier mails to apps-discuss, which I had.

That bit just puzzles me, I've no idea what you mean Phill
about merging.

But once again, I'd say letting this lie for a week and then
more calmly starting another thread is likely the better
thing here from everyone's POV.
