The technical requirements for the ftp service are different from the other ietf.org protocol service requirements, though. The service requirements are minimal — ftp is only for legacy, anonymous, read-only access to mainly write-once data (never updated after creation). Traffic and load should continue to decrease. Scalability isn’t a requirement. There is no need to move to different ftp server or reconfigure to deal with a different directory structure, continue to run a single instance ftp server which serves data from it’s own chroot copies.
