It’s now less than four weeks to the IETF meeting, and many of us have (non-refundable) flights already booked. People on tight budgets, like students — exactly the kind of new people we want to attract to things like a hackathon — are likely to have booked well in advance to save money. Sort-notice additions to the schedule like this inadvertently favor those with generous corporate travel budgets to cover airline change fees. Stuart Cheshire
