Personally I think fees should go down and not up.
I agree with this, where there should be more alternatives for attendees and presenters. The cost is down when we pay in advance. It is better for IETF to get contributions in as soon as possible, so if it makes some discounts that will encourage many. Furthermore, companies should pay as long their name are on the RFCs.
Now payments. It is only two options to pay if we exclude the option to take a full time study. There should be a year contribution fees and a half year contribution fees option. So for example, if I want to pay in advance for attending 3 full-meeting, the cost should go down not up.
