RE: Mentoring

At my first meeting, I wasn't able to arrive on Sunday. At that point, I was mainly following work in one working group that was meeting mid-week. At later meetings, I wasn't a newcomer any more so I never attended a Newcomer meet and greet. That is probably pretty common.

The second slot for tutorials is listed as 1500-1650. The newcomer's gig
is listed as 1600-1700. So, conflicting.

I've been supported by an IETF sponsor who has sent a heck of a lot of
new attendees to the IETF since 2005. One point that's come up
repeatedly is that people show up on Sunday afternoon and evening
because the "real IETF meeting" starts Monday morning.

Some of the newcomers are likely still at the airport during the
newcomer's meet and greet.
