[WEG] While I realize that Benoit was originally speaking to the need for subject matter expertise, this comment also says to me that we are not doing a good enough job providing the tools that IESG needs to be as efficient as possible with their time, which when combined with the increased volume of work in IETF is leading to the borderline unsupportable time commitment. I therefore echo the suggestion that IESG should be charged with identifying actionable ways to make their jobs easier. I suggest that they set up a meeting, perhaps a half or full day with the full IESG, but also at least part of the day should be open to any interested former IESG members, plus perhaps secretariat, RSE, and tools team representatives. This group would discuss what improvements to process, workflow and tools are needed to make the IESG job easier by offloading some of the administrative overhead. The end result of that would be an internet-draft to track the suggestions and give the community an opportunity to provide additional suggestions and get some consensus behind it before some or all of the suggestions are put into motion.
