It's a safe bet that the FSF people who show up on this list once or twice a year to "vote" on a proposal that they have been told to "vote" on, would also show up at election time to vote for or against candidates according to what they have been told.  That's not democracy, and in order to prevent it, you have to establish full formal membership policies.
