Yes, and in addition generating the key pair take some time. These are
not being disputed, Eric simply was disagreeing with the value of those
of differences.

Exactly. No disagreement on the facts here. We may disagree on the
willingness of implementors (not to mention their evaluation of the
IPR claims involved).
