Sure - but most people have to pay for their time out of some sort of pot. Doing AD work while being on fed out of other pots puts the AD in a tough spot of doubling their work. The solution is to be relieved of some of their other work. Reducing the load helps, but not that much; there aren't other jobs, including TPC chairs of large conferences, that take anywhere near this much time. > So the real requirement is to reduce the load the IETF places on an AD.
