I notice - from the agenda for the upcoming Bangkok IETF - that, once again, there is no Tuesday evening Social Event. There has not been a Social Event since IETF 117 (July 2023, in San Francisco). Is the Social Event now a thing of the past? I don’t recall seeing any announcement about this. Yes, I realize that the IETF Social Event is at the discretion of the host - but I don’t recall there being such a long drought of Social Events at any time in the past. (And no, the "Board Game Night” is not, IMHO, a comparable replacement.) Ross (who will not be at the Bangkok IETF, but who probably will be at the Madrid IETF, and who was looking forward to there being a Social Event there.)
