Yes, and that practice has consensus as a Best Current Practice (BCP 205): https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc7942 It may be worth to read this BCP and follow it for Section 7, even if it goes away after approval (unsurprisingly, the I-D stays around as a temporal snapshot). (BTW, kramdown-rfc has a {::boilerplate rfc7942} that might do some of that work.)
