Hi, I am not sure it makes sense to move NTPv3 to historic. Obviously the IETF recommends using NTPv4 rather than NTPv3, but I am not sure that is enough to make NTPv3 historic. It somewhat reminds me of some of the discussions 10 years ago about moving IPv4 to historic. It would be interesting to know to what extent NTPv3 is used these days. There was an argument on the NTP mailing list a couple of years ago that NTPv3 is still 70% of the traffic (https://mailarchive.ietf.org/arch/msg/ntp/n-rmz-BE4Pcm8J58A5hidy-zUjM/). I do not know whether that is still valid. FWIW, I opened Wireshark on my Windows 11 laptop this morning and it uses NTPv3. Cheers, Tal.
