Alldispatch. In my view, the Alldispatch meeting should cover anything, whether technical or process-related, where either the destination is unclear or where the wg chairs or
ADs believe wider community scrutiny is warranted, for whatever reason. Including a sentence on slide 1 explaining the referral to Alldispatch would be helpful.
In terms of timing, I believe that scheduling an Alldispatch session at the start of our meetings (ie session 1, Monday morning), is the right thing to do as it could
enable at least some points to be picked up in wg meetings later in the week. Having it free of conflicts in the schedule should mean more of us pay attention to the matters on the agenda and contribute to the discussion. We could make the process more effective by requiring all papers (slides plus a supporting background document – with some guidelines on maximum document length)
to be on datatracker a clear two weeks before the meeting to give people a reasonable amount of time to read the material in advance. This would help to focus the discussion in Alldispatch on whether and how to dispatch the matter at hand.
