Robert,
I think the problem here is that, as far as I know, there has not been
a clear "all hands" announcement that people now need to create new
accounts.
Yes, there hasn't been, at least to lists. This has been an
under-communication problem and I apologize for it.
We'll send more soon to try to address that gap. Apologies again that it
is later in the process than it should have been.

There have been announcements to WG Chairs and tools-discuss
aficionados, but I don't recall a general announcement.
So if, as an ordinary user, I follow the old instructions like:
To unsubscribe or manage your options for this list, visit:
https://www.ietf.org/mailman/options/$LIST_NAME/$USER%40gmail.com
Your password to manage your options is:
$PASSWORD
I end up at https://mailman3.ietf.org/mailman3/lists/?all-lists and
(if persistent) end up in a place where $PASSWORD doesn't work. Yes,
it does at some point say "If you have not previously signed in, you
may need to set up an account" but of course I *have* previously
signed in, so for someone who hasn't been following the details, it is
confusing, exactly as Stuart describes.
If that message could say "If you have not previously signed in since
the recent transition to mailman3, you *will* need to set up an
account...", it might be less confusing.
That said, once done, the results are nice.

Hi Stuart -
You need to create an account at postorius - the passwords associated
with mailman2 are no longer used for anything and it is not yet
integrated with the datatracker (that is planned for the future).
This message has a little more detail:

Apologies if you had not seen that before.

I have been subscribed to many IETF mailing lists for many years. I
see we recently switched to Postorius / Mailman 3, which is fine. As
far as I can tell, I am still successfully receiving email for all
those mailing lists.
However, when I try to sign in at <https://mailman3.ietf.org/>, it
does not accept my password. When I use the “Forgot Password?” link
and enter my email address, I get an email saying “we do not have
any record ... in our database.” This is surprising since, as I
said, I do seem to be successfully receiving email for IETF mailing
lists.
Is this expected? Does Mailman 3 really have no record of my email
address, even though I am still receiving email for multiple IETF
mailing lists? Should I expect my Datatracker account password to
work? Or is Mailman 3 a completely separate system with separate
accounts and passwords?
I don’t mind making a new account with a new password if that’s
required, but before I do that I wanted to check if that’s what I am
supposed to do.
