greetings draft-ietf-6man-sids authors and shepards.
It was brought to my attention that draft-ietf-6man-sids-03 sec 3
references ORCHIDv2 (rfc7343):
and [RFC7343] that
describes ORCHIDv2 (a cryptographic hash identifier format).
Please note that rfc9374 sec 3.5 updates 7343. We do not specifically
refer to the updated ORCHID method as v3, but it pretty much is. 9374
adds two important features over 7343:
Improved flexiblity on the header content and hashing of the ORCHID.
Improved security of the ORCHID by including the header in the hashing.
Now I suspect neither of these are important to 6man-sids. They ARE
important to ORCHIDs.
Please look into how you will add reference to 9374 in your document. I
am willing to review your text, but not suggest anything as I would find
it presumptous on my part as I have no background in what you are doing.
Oh, also note that we are working with IANA on delegating the DET
ip6.arpa. reverse tree so that applications can use them to gain direct
information about the DET owner. This is covered in both:
draft-ietf-drip-registries
and
draft-moskowitz-drip-dki
