Doesn't everyone participate in the IETF as an individual rather than a representative of their employer? I also thought we're supposed to judge I-Ds based on their content, not who wrote them.
Correct, of course. But if the content is clearly partisan, I am quite sure that it would affect my judgment, and probably most other people's judgment too. Looking at the authors' affiliations is not unreasonable.
