Revisiting a variation on a question that came up some months ago, is the description of why a nomination is being made * confidential to the Nomcom Chair and voting members (not exposed to liaisons) * confidential to the Nomcom (including liaisons), or * public The same question applies to the responses to questionnaires. I am aware of at least one nomination that will probably not be made --for fear of retaliation or unnecessary disruption -- if either or both will be made public beyond the Chair and Voting Members who have an obligation of confidentiality. The potential nominee is willing a accept any flack or disruption if actually selected and has no problem with their name (as a candidate) being public, but believes that disclosure of reasons or some parts of the questionnaire responses would lead to actions that would be unnecessarily harmful to the community if they were public or subject to disclosure by liaisons to the bodies that sent them. thanks, john --On Wednesday, September 28, 2022 13:43 -0700 NomCom Chair 2022 <nomcom-chair-2022@xxxxxxxx> wrote: > The IETF Nomination Committee (NomCom) for 2022-2023 is > seeking nominations from now until October 24. > > The list of open positions can be found at the NomCom home > page: https://datatracker.ietf.org/nomcom/2022/ > This also includes the list of those incumbents who have said > they are seeking to be renominated. > > To nominate someone, please click on the "Nominate" link at > the top of the home page, or go there directly: > https://datatracker.ietf.org/nomcom/2022/nominate/ > > Please include a brief description why you are nominating > them.
