Indeed it will, as long as the specification on how to do it is stringent enough. I just wanted to reemphasise what John Klensin wrote -- a warning that there should not be "too many degrees of freedom" in the specification created.

There isn't :)
Peers either agree on EAI addresses or not. Everything else is beyond the IETF scope.
