If there were a system that made copies of anything linked in a document, how many other kinds of stability would you need?

 

I thought doing so could be the default.

 

To make a stable reference in an unstable world, add a date.

  • I think that the text should be included ONLY when the downref is less stable than the document making the reference.

 

I agree.  That requires some judgement, perhaps, but that’s okay.
