I am baffled that anyone with the technical skill to help write IETF standards documents has enough extra time to deal with email that is, to them, irrelevant. It seems to me that those skills are increasingly rare these days in proportion to the set of people developing Internet applications, and the relatively few people who have the depth and skill are often extremely busy.
