The document does not give you a choice. Section 3 and section 3.1 say “scheme followed by colon” The six occurences of the word separator have context that say it is not appropriate for scheme (except the one reference in section 4.1
which says “scheme followed by its colon separator”). Can you point to which RFC’s you followed other than 3698? Can you identify which sections in 3986 you feel gave you a choice? |
