That is a very broad question. In what OS? If Linux use the usual BSD
sockets API and look at http://linux-net.osdl.org/index.php/DCCP.
We still need to define a proper way to get further information back
to users, please let us know about your needs, it may influence how
your needs should be serviced in the UNIX world!
