Technical Summary
 
This document revises RFC3332, the Internet adaptation layer for the MTP3
(layer3 for SS7) protocol. The primary purpose of this protocol is to tunnel SS7control traffic (ISUP, etc) over IP, mostly for the sake of emulating SS7
signaling networks or building distributed SS7-IP gateways. This revision
mostlyconsists of corrections and clarifications.
 
Working Group Summary
 
The SIGTRAN working group supported the advancement of this document without
contention.
 
Protocol Quality
 
This document was reviewed for the IESG by Jon Peterson and David Black (on
behalf of GEN-ART).
