The primary purpose of this protocol is to tunnel SS7control traffic (ISUP, etc) over IP, mostly for the sake of emulating SS7 signaling networks or building distributed SS7-IP gateways. This revision mostlyconsists of corrections and clarifications. Working Group Summary The SIGTRAN working group supported the advancement of this document without contention.
