Brightness on Yoga 460

Hello, I got a new Thinkpad Yoga 460 here.

I tried numerous standard solutions that used to make brightness work, none of them works here

acpi_backlight=vendor the thinkpad_acpi driver loads
======
[    1.781299] thinkpad_acpi: ThinkPad ACPI Extras v0.25
[    1.781301] thinkpad_acpi: http://ibm-acpi.sf.net/
[    1.781303] thinkpad_acpi: ThinkPad BIOS R05ET56W (1.34), EC unknown
[    1.781304] thinkpad_acpi: Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 460, model 20EM000VGE
[    1.782643] thinkpad_acpi: detected a 8-level brightness capable ThinkPad
[    1.783774] thinkpad_acpi: radio switch found; radios are enabled
[    1.823999] thinkpad_acpi: rfkill switch tpacpi_bluetooth_sw: radio is unblocked
[    1.826249] thinkpad_acpi: Console audio control enabled, mode: monitor (read only)
[    1.834253] input: ThinkPad Extra Buttons as /devices/platform/thinkpad_acpi/input/input5
================
And I get an interface:
===
$ ls /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen/
actual_brightness  bl_power  brightness  max_brightness  power  subsystem  type  uevent
===
but nothing I echo into brightness (0-7) changes the screen

and
$ echo 7 > /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen/brightness
$ cat /sys/class/backlight/thinkpad_screen/actual_brightness
0

"actual brightness" is always almost correctly 0. The screen is as dark as possible, but not turned off yet.

The module refuses the option brightness_mode=1 (EC) whatever that means.

Any idea how to make this work?

Kind regardds,
