I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T430 that I bought in october last year running Debian Sid with kernel 3.6.9 from experimental. I needed this kernel version because some things do not work (sorry, I can; t remember what exactly) wit the current Sid's kernel, 3.2.39. yestarday I tried to suspend it and it didn't. by chance I checked dmesg and I found this: [2107312.486760] thinkpad_acpi: unknown possible thermal alarm or keyboard event received [2107312.486767] thinkpad_acpi: unhandled HKEY event 0x6040 [2107312.486770] thinkpad_acpi: please report the conditions when this event happened to ibm-acpi-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [2107312.487224] thinkpad_acpi: EC reports that Thermal Table has changed I successfully managed to suspend the machine via pm-suspend, so it's no blocker. I'm not subscribed to the list, so I added myself to the CC:. -- (Not so) Random fortune: There is a style of design I call "wishful thinking engineering." It starts with something like "pigs can fly if you feed them enough beans" and develops utopian plans such as like having everyone commute to work riding on personal pigs, and along the way ignores minor details such as the consequent rain of the non-gaseous byproducts. -- Vernon Schryver ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Own the Future-Intel(R) Level Up Game Demo Contest 2013 Rise to greatness in Intel's independent game demo contest.
