That would be very surprising, it is not supposed to be possible. If it is under warranty, call Lenovo. If it is not, get the hardware maintenance manual, tools, lots of patience and a quiet workbench, and check if you can resettle the WWAN card, etc. You could also try a full BIOS reset (erase CMOS), just in case it really is a case of "disabling it so completely it does not show up anymore even in the BIOS" -- but that's really unlikely. -- "One disk to rule them all, One disk to find them.
