Wanted to confirm this issue on my T500 with Ericsson F3507G WWAN
Adapter.

Here is my dmesg:

[ 3000.253341] thinkpad_acpi: wan_init: wan hardware not installed

I'm running on Ubuntu 10.10 with module version 0.24:

root@T500:~# modinfo thinkpad_acpi
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.35-22-generic/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/thinkpad_acpi.ko
license: GPL
version: 0.24
description: ThinkPad ACPI Extras

Linux T500 2.6.35-22-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Sat Oct 16 20:45:36 UTC 2010
x86_64 GNU/Linux

The adapter had worked on Ubuntu 9, I can see it in old messages files:

Oct 19 15:18:45 T500 kernel: [ 21.767371] cdc_ether 2-4:1.7: wwan0:
register 'cdc_ether' at usb-0000:00:1d.7-4, Mobile Broadband Network
Device, 02:80:37:ec:02:00
Oct 19 15:18:46 T500 kernel: [ 22.579556] thinkpad_acpi: rfkill switch
tpacpi_wwan_sw: radio is unblocked

(please note that this was October 2009)

Now I assume that somehow ACPI managed to disable the adapter completely
and so persistent, that it won't come up even after poweroff/poweron.

The same issue I have now under Win 7 Home Premium....no hardware
detected at all.

I checked BIOS settings several times, I can't see any unsuspected
"DISABLED" entries.

Any help highly appreciated!

Thanks

Mathias
