I checked this from initramfs (break=modules, if you are familiar with
the Debian convention).  Apart from busybox, only kernel threads were
running.  Yes, modes 1 and 3 worked, 2 did not.

This may be an unusual model, I'm having problems with suspend,
hibernate, and sometimes even reboot...  Being "e"conomic takes its
taxes, I guess.

Hrm, I'd have sworn I did that before the dump.  Bleh.
