acpi events only on proc, not on netlink interface

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

As the doc states, the thinkpad acpi module does not export hotkey events
through the netlink interface.

http://ibm-acpi.sourceforge.net/README
"all hot key presses are reported both through the input
layer and also as ACPI events through procfs (but not
through netlink)."

What's the intention of this? As the procfs interface is marked as deprecated
in the kernel (and will most probably go away in the future), shouldn't this
be changed so the hotkey events can also be caught through netlink?

cu,
