Read the thinkpad-acpi docs, please (for a *recent* thinkpad-acpi).  Also,
make sure you're using the latest BIOS.

Then ask around in the linux-thinkpad ML.  Getting the keys to work is far
more a problem of correctly configuring a lot of crap in userspace than
anything else.

PS: on a X61s, it is the ACPI video module that is responsible for
brightness processing.
