I didn't ask Lenovo about it.  In fact, I didn't even KNOW the X61 had two
fans.  Does it *really* have two spinning devices?  If so, a X61 owner will
have to raise his hand and become an intelligent lab rat to help discover
how to control said fan.

The first thing you can do is to:

1. Make sure there really are two fans, and not just one with two outputs or
somesuch

2. Send me the output of acpidump for a completely up-to-date X61 (latest
BIOS).

3. Play with the ecdump facility of thinkpad-acpi to track down the
tachometer and possible the fan control register for the second fan.
