Not in the setup screen, but the BIOS is still responsible for the
ACPI implementation. Unfortunately these often come with pretty
serious bugs :-/

OK, so it's not a bug with udev at all then.

I don't know enough about kernel ACPI initialization to know whether
it could be a kernel bug, or is definitively a bug in the BIOS' ACPI
implementation/tables. If you make a kernel bug report, please test
with the latest upstream kernel first, and include the output of
"dmesg", which includes quite a lot of ACPI information.

But perhaps try the BIOS update first that Curtis mentioned?
